What is this for?

This site is an experiment to improve decision making around zoning amendments and give a stronger voice to people who don't have time to attend public meetings. The test is meant to see how much engagement an online forum like this can generate.

Provide the Planning Board with a clearer view of whether the town supports a proposed change. For example, the recent zoning vote was large, and it is unclear whether certain parts had more support than others.
Allow people who do not have time to attend public meetings to make their voices heard.
Publish unbiased, factual information about issues related to Enfield zoning to help voters form their own opinions before election day.
Create a space for moderated public discussion related to Enfield zoning.

Why this question was used

This question is designed to measure two things. First, how many people are willing to participate in an online poll about an Enfield ballot issue. Second, how the responses compare to actual election results, specifically whether the mix of “yes” and “no” responses here reflects what we see on election day.

Responses are completely anonymous, and there is no way to identify who submitted them. This test also does not prevent multiple submissions, so please limit your responses to one per registered voter.
